Magic Talk's Sunday Cafe host Roman Travers was impressively quick-witted for a Sunday morning interview. Responding to my “chirpy” manner and “isn’t it a good time to be alive” comment with: “Well, it is indeed as the alternative sucks”.
I was sneakily taking Roman’s call from the dimly-lit lunch room of NZME between two other radio interviews. In fact, I unexpectedly got the call from Roman’s producer a week earlier than booked, so the interview was totally impromptu.
Roman was fair in his question line; at times asking the harder questions which people deserve to have asked, and answered. The interview concluded with a book giveaway; this whole journey really has been about getting as many people engaged and informed to make the best decision for the binding referendum.
